2. Manchester United Football Club: Love it or hate it you have to see it! Home of the most famous football team in the world! Hop on the tram at Sale Metro station and get off at Old Trafford. 10/15 minutes journey time. The 'Theatre Of Dreams' is waiting for you!  www.manutd.com

3. The Trafford Centre: Fantastic shopping centre with entertainment, cinemas and great restaurants. It's a great day out for all the family, especially the ladies! and even better when it rains, which it occasionally does in Manchester.  Hop on the tram at Sale Metro and get off at Stretford Metro. Then get the connecting Trafford Centre bus outside. 20 minutes approx journey time. Or by car get on the M60 at Sale (junction7) and get off at (junction9) and  you are there. 10 minutes journey time.  www.traffordcentre.co.uk

4.  Manchester City Centre: A Buzzing, Multicultural, Fab, Cool, Stylish City  steeped in history right on our doorstep and home of Coronation Street (but don't let that put you off).  Don't miss it ! It's got everything you want & need. www.visitmanchester.com Take the Tram from Sale to St Peters Square or Piccadilly Gardens. Approx 10/15 minutes. 

5. Museum of Science & Industry: A great day out for families; it's not rocket science - well it is actually!  Located on the historic site of the worlds oldest serving passenger railway station. www.mosi.org.uk  Hop on the Tram at Sale and get off at Gmex. Approx 10/15 minutes. Free admission! you'll be over the moon!

6.  Manchester Museum: Manchester's very own Natural History Museum. Free admission! yes please. It's like a smaller version of the London one but without the queues! We love this museum not only because it's free, but because it really is a great day out. Take the Tram from Sale and get off at St Peters Square. A short walk along Oxford Road and you're there. Approx 20/30 minutes. www.museum.manchester.ac.uk

7.  Manchester City Football Club:  Manchester's other football club and the richest in the world! however trophyless as we speak but second best team in Manchester is pretty good for now. Hop on the Tram at Sale get off at Piccadilly and then get the bus to The City Of Manchester Stadium. Approx 37/40 minutes. www.mcfc.co.uk

8. The Imperial War Museum North:  A must see for all historians, absolutely fascinating and worth going to see for the amazing building it is housed in. Only a few minutes' walk from Manchester United's football ground. www.iwm.org.uk Free admission.

9. Worthington Park: Our local park, and right on our doorstep (turn left out of the hotel entrance, it's 200 yards on your right) A lovely little park for families, joggers, the elderly and guests who bring their dogs (Wuf Wuf!) A well cared for park with many local awards and a great play area for children. Well worth a look!  

10. Dunham Massey Hall & Gardens: National Trust property, approx 5/6 miles away. Beautiful gardens and house, Wild deer roaming free (or is that just my Mum & Dad!) and a lovely little tea room, oh and there's also a nice pub, 'The Swan with 2 Nicks' nice to sit out and have a pint in the lovely surrounding countryside. See National Trust website below. 11. Altrincham old market town:  Altrincham holds a market on every Tuesday, Friday & Saturday. Also has some good individual shops as well as all the big names. Pleasant areas to eat are in 'Goose Green' and on 'The Downs'. There is also a multiplex cinema and ice rink. Hop on the Tram at Sale and go in the opposite direction to Manchester. You can also get the train at Altrincham to the historic Roman City of Chester (Caesar opportunity whilst you can!)  Takes approx 10 minutes by Tram to Altrincham. 12. The Trans Pennine Trail: Oi on yer bike! yes you, don't forget to bring your bike. The Trans Pennine Trail (TPT) is an exciting route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders linking the North and Irish seas, passing through the Pennines, alongside rivers and canals and through some of the most historic towns and cities in the North of England. 13. The Chill Factor: Ski, board, climb, shop & dine oh and fall over! in Manchester's all year round snow centre. This really is quite a magnificent structure and well worth going just to look at. Highly recommended even if  you don't like adventure and looking a complete fool. It's great just to watch and take in the ambience, and then to watch the ambulance arrive to take away the injured! It truly is brilliant fun, miss it and miss out. Located just next to the Trafford centre. www.chillfactore.com It's basically downhill all the way from here! Oh no.

14. Legoland Discovery Centre: This is great for families with young children, probably not suitable for teenagers but they can go around the Trafford centre and annoy Dad instead! They have a 4D cinema and a truck load of Lego and the best bit is you don't have to put it away. Located at the Trafford Centre and they do various different offers.  www.legolanddiscoverycentre.co.uk    

15. Sale Water Park: Approx 10/15 minute walk from the hotel. On a nice day this is a lovely area to go for a walk especially if you have a dog. You can also hire a sail boat or go fishing on the lake, for bird watchers there is a nature reserve, you get some lovely birds down there in the summer!! A 10 minute walk takes you along the famous river Mersey to Chorlton water park which is also very nice. By Bike or by foot this is a great area to explore and you can even stop for a pint at 'Jacksons Boat' which is where you can join the 'Trans Pennine Trail.'  At Sale Water Park  there is a steak bar & grill called 'Decker's' it's a great setting to dine in overlooking the lake.
